Quote of The Day

It was also interesting for me to note a few opposition supporters also marched with the Dashnaks the night before. I know a few of them from years of photographing opposition rallies and when one (actually one of Aram Sargsyan's guys who usually is part of the people who keeps things in order) came up to me to say hi on the AYF march up to the memorial I jokingly asked "Are you a Dashnak today?" His response was "I'm Armenian."

Perhaps that's why I didn't march with the Dashnaks: I am not Armenian.

But I went there today, alone with tens of thousands of people.

Perhaps people should commemorate 24 April whichever way they see fit. It's a personal matter as well -- regardless of whether you're Armenia or not.

As for this quote, it was simply to signify that some of Levon's supporters were willing and able to also join with others regardless of political sympathies.

I think that was encouraging although the actual matter of the Dashnak and the Levon rallies is another issue entirely.

Incidentally, I usually visit the memorial individually, although I have photographed past opposition and ARF-D events (in 2006, I think).

There was again no avoiding doing the same in 2008.
