Looking at Serj’s campaigning one may wonder why he bothers to campaign at all? The only reason he campaigns is to show the international community that this election is not a farce but rather ‘exemplary’ one. Ironically, with each passing day, he is making more and more mistakes, to put it mildly, damaging further his reputation. Not that this decreases his chances to be elected. With or without people’s votes.
Today, marking the Army Day, a woman managed to approach the president and started complaining about social hardship she is living in. This has angered Serj. Seriously. He had nothing better to say than get back to the woman and complain arrogantly that with her coming here and crying she is spoiling the holiday. This is more like a քուչի տղա response, rather than president’s.
Regardless how annoying or inappropriate this woman’s complain may seem to him, this is absolutely not a way any official, let alone president, should speak to the very people he (supposedly) serves.

“Towards secure Armenia”- this is Armenia’s ruling republican party slogan for presidential campaign. Effectively, this is a very public admission that president failed in ensuring one of his main duties, as per Constitution:
Article 49 The President of the Republic shall be the guarantor of the independence, territorial integrity and security of the Republic of Armenia.
Their campaign launched with a music video where everyone is happy smiling and dancing literally everywhere. It depicts a disturbing picture of nation under drugs. The only dancing part that - unfortunately! - looks believable is dancing in the airport before the plane’s take off. “Towards secure Armenia”? Ha!
The very threat to the security of Armenia is a current political establishment headed by republican party with formally accepted neo-nazi style ideology. A party whose high level officials, including the spokesman, publicly and unashamedly support terrorism against a group of their own citizens and spread intolerance and discrimination towards anyone who does not fit into their ‘national standards’.
Never before my friends and relatives in Armenia were so indifferent to presidential election. It’s no news for them, just a time for occasional mocking (in a #funnysad way) looking at the clownery named “campaign” (with few exceptions of Heritage party leader, ex-FM Raffi Hovhannisyan and ex-PM Hrant Bagratyan).
Just how fake everything connected with the ruling republican party is perfectly illustrated in this video.... Not that we needed any additional proof.
Here in this video, unzipping a blatant stage-management of the campaign, school children were trained to greet current Armenia president. The video then continues to present slightly different version of ruling party's presidential election campaign music clip. Closer to the reality.
And in case you were nostalgic of Soviet/Stalinist style “Dear party leader” nauseating lines, watch this pretty #funnysad clip from one of week No.1 election campaign meetings of current president Serj Sargsyan. I will never look at my childhood favourite Cheburashka the same way again. Not only they ruin the country. They ruin my childhood memories too.
I am speechless. A truly outrageous incident has happened today at one of 4th grade classes in a Yerevan school named after Daniel Varuzhan. Head teacher has forcibly cut children’s hair because apparently she didn’t like their haircut. She later ‘explained’ it by an expression of “motherly joke” from her side. This incident has got reported and gained publicity thanks to journalist parents. It’s currently being investigated by educational authorities.
How many similar or more outrageous incidents go unreported, one may wonder?!

From the moment when Liberty sq got seized by the authorities 3 years ago, it became apparent that unless it gets liberated again, there will be no possibility for real changes in Armenia. Apart from the great symbolism that Liberty sq represents, you just can’t have hopes for democracy in your country when you have ‘no-go’ zones there. Not that this is the only pre-requisite for changes, but still...
I can’t help myself but wonder: will today’s event transcend into a ‘spring of hope’ for changes in Armenia? It’s clear that the liberation of Liberty sq happened due to a good will and cooperation between the opposition and the authorities added by biggest (in recent past) people turnout, continuous pressures from the European structures (incidentally, senior PACE rapporteurs on Armenia were in town), worsening of socio-economic conditions of locals and the influence of more global spirit of revolutionary uprisings elsewhere.

Opportunities for something positive for Armenia are there, or as they say, ‘in the air’. It’s now up to people, opposition and the authorities to make them a reality. And let’s not forget who directly kick started the latest wave of the “battle for Liberty”. Couple of days ago, prominent oppositionist, head of Zharangutyun (Heritage) party, ex-foreign minister Raffi Hovhannisyan started “hungry for change” hunger strike inside the Liberty sq making it more than ever (over the past 3 years) accessible to protest voices and activists. “On the morning of March 15, 2011 he went on a hunger-strike to put an end to empty promises, corrupt practices and corrosive apathy.” “His actions paved the way for thousands of peaceful protesters, under the leadership of Armenian National Congress (a coalition of opposition groups) to, in the evening of March 17, 2011, retake Liberty Square.” (press release and picture below - FB page - Hungry for Change: Freedom and Justice in Armenia | Ծոմ Ազատության)

Starting with the case of that Nubarashen school pedophile teacher, then army and school abuse videos, and then the highly publicised recent domestic violence case, what I noticed - not infrequently - that some people, even among ‘stop violence’ campaigners, in the heat of emotional debate call for lynching of those suspected in abuse or violence.
Yes, it’s understandable that emotions may run high, and things may be said (but not meant to) in the midst of heated debate or as an immediate emotional reaction to horrific crimes.... But you simply can’t fight violence with violence. This will not solve any problems. Instead, it will ensure a vicious circle of everlasting violence.
Let’s take a very recent example of domestic violence in Armenia, that rightly resulted in an outrage, and petition was launched (I supported and signed it) calling for law against domestic violence.
In total, there were 3196 signatures with/without comments, now passed to the prime minister.
A friend of mine disturbed by certain comments posted on the petition 'Armenia Must Pass Domestic Violence Legislation', compiled a list of all of those signatories (28 in total) who "wished bodily violence and death upon the husband and/or mother-in-law of Zaruhi Petrosyan". He rightly pointed out that “we need to prevent domestic violence, not practice lynch mob rule”.
It is also disturbing that a person (e.g. petition signatory 3179, screenshot below) would use a slanderous and bigoted term about a sexual minority group to express his anger over a domestic violence issue. This ‘injustice by injustice’ approach totally devalues his own signature.
Thankfully, 28 comments make up less than 1% of the total number of signatories.
Interesting geographical distribution of such comments: 22 of the 28 comments came from California(!); 2 from Armenia; 1 from Turkey, Australia each; and 1 from the states of Wisconsin and Florida each. As friend commented, “Americans seem to be the most 'stop violence with violence' people...in a country where the death sentence is practiced regularly, but I am not sure about in California....”
Below are just few selected extracts to demonstrate the point.

In the past, I heard of Arab females being stoned to death and even seen a true story about it "The Stoning of Soraya M". But I never heard an Armenian version of it. I can't believe beating an individual to death still occures with a mother-in-law having to be the main suspect.
Saying that, and presumably considering it deploring, she then continues:
It's sad to say, but in my personal opinion I believe she should get beaten the same way and let along to die. Don't only stick a dirty peice of cloth in her mouth, but stick in up her ass. The mother-in-law as well as her xangarvats son need to die exectution style. The best method for these types of people is Iranian style "stone to death".
Rule of law, education, trainings, changes in law, and similar measures... that's what I'd like to see instead.

After animal abuse, army abuse and school abuse videos that were widely distributed in Armenian online circles and subsequently reported by printed media and reacted by officials, putting evidence of irregularities on YouTube becoming increasingly THE way of exposing things in Armenia.
Perhaps being encouraged by its effectiveness, yesterday new video emerged showing teacher’s physical abuse towards pupils (YouTube link). I have to admit, my first impression was that students making fun of teacher, as the video clearly shows that they are laughing at and enjoying the recording experience.
Nevertheless, despite the fact that this may be set up by pupils, there are no excuses for teacher to behave like that.
Video was uploaded on 14 October 2010 and does not provide any description.
However, a Facebook friend of mine says that his brother saw this video before and recognised his former teacher. According to him, the video was made in school No. 129, and the teacher’s name is Lena Abgaryan.
Now if only those who put the videos on YouTube learn writing appropriate titles and description, and put relevant labels...
YouTube video in circulation today shows physical and verbal abuse by one of teachers allegedly at an elite school (named after Pushkin) in downtown Yerevan.
I thought that such behaviour by teachers is a thing of past. Apparently, not. And if we believe the video description, this incident allegedly took place at one of the most prestigious schools in Armenia.
No more info is available as of now. Interestingly, this video was uploaded on 7 May 2010, but became known today thanks to its circulation on Facebook.
I can only say that I am so glad that school children in Yerevan started embracing modern technology to fight cases of abuse by teachers. I am so in favour for children using mobile phones. Well done, guys.
When we first exposed the video, they said it was ‘fabricated’ without even preliminary investigation. In an initial statement by MoD there were even threats to those who made and disseminate the video with partly successful but inevitably unsuccessful attempts to erase the video from the Internet.
“The Ministry of Defence of Armenia strongly condemns preparation and deliberate dissemination of such materials aimed at discrediting and diminishing the reputation of the armed forces of Armenia.”
Speaking before the parliament, Minister of Defence Seyran Ohanyan called the video a “disinformation”. “It’s a disinformation about our army, and I do not believe what was captured on that video has really taken place”, he said. Some pseudo-patriotic circles immediately pointed fingers towards the ‘enemy side’.
However... Only hours after the Minister’s statement, sadistic officer was identified and detained, and we received an official confirmation of the authenticity of the video.
In its latest statement, “the Armenian Defense Ministry officially confirmed on Wednesday the identity of an army officer who was arrested last week for abusing his soldiers and is now facing up to five years in prison.”
The arrest followed the circulation of an amateur Youtube video that shows a uniform-clad man hitting and humiliating two army conscripts during what looks like a picnic. The footage caused public outrage, prompting the Armenian military to order an inquiry.
The Defense Ministry initially questioned its veracity and said those who posted it on the Internet are keen to “discredit” the Armed Forces. Subsequent media reports said military investigators tracked down the officer shown in the clip. He was identified as Major Sasun Galstian, deputy commander of an army unit deployed in Nagorno-Karabakh.
In a written statement, the ministry said Galstian was arrested and formally charged last Friday under an article of the Criminal Code dealing with abuse of power committed by servicemen. It carries between two and five years’ imprisonment.
The ministry statement also identified the two soldiers allegedly mistreated by Galstian, saying that they both will be examined by forensic medics. It said the video was shot in July on a mobile phone belonging to another serviceman, in the presence of his father and brother.
I’d like to re-cite this comment made under my initial post by Ara Manoogian, who re-uploaded the video on YouTube (after it was removed) and consequently faced threats of violence and demands to remove the video:
"I not only think we have a problems with violence in the army, but we have a bigger problem with people willing to face the realities that exist in our nation today, thus presumably an unwillingness to face them head on and deal with them."
So true.
What is the most important and key here is to eradicate and fight the root cause of the problem. We all know very well, without the need of videos to prove, that bullying and hazing do exist and widespread in the armed forces and need urgent intervention. Emerging videos or reports simply highlight this disturbing reality and should be taken as a call for actions. Status quo is a violation of human rights of servicemen and consequently a real threat to the national security of Armenia.
While current developments may be considered as a victory for online activists who exposed and distributed the video in the first place, this will only become a real victory for all of us, including MoD, if Armenian officials face up the widespread problems of corruption and abuse in the army and initiate radical reforms to ensure that similar displays of sadism as well as “suicides” and non combat deaths are prevented and dealt with. In the world of Internet, cover up is an outdated concept.
UPDATE17 September 2010: Armenia MoD confirms that those depicted in army hazing video were identified and detained. More details to be provided.
UPDATE16 September 2010: Video was removed from Dailymotion too, but available elsewhere, e.g. on YouTube. It keeps getting removed and reappearing again. What is more important is that according to the media reports, the sadistic officer on the video was identified, and soon Armenian MoD will make a statement. MoD refused so far to confirm media reports. Will keep you posted on developments.

This video was put on YouTube today and started circulating on Facebook. It titled (AM) Բանակի իրական դեմքը (‘The real face of the army’) and allegedly shows bullying and physical violence in the Armenian army. No description for the video is provided, and it’s not known when and where this video was taken. I can only assume it was taken via mobile phone.
Urgent investigation is needed to reveal the full details of this incident. What is depicted in this video is simply disgusting. This follows recent cases of “suicides” and non combat deaths in the Armenian army. Over the last couple of days there were more reports on “suicide” and non combat violence in the Armenian army.
An example of animal cruelty at its most chilling exhibition
Thanks to a tweet by @GoldenTent, I came across this link to the YouTube video, which alleges that Armenian oligarch and head of ruling Bargavatch Hayastan (‘Properous Armenia’) party Gagik Tsarukyan stages this fight between his lions and a donkey. (or it was staged at his ‘private zoo’)

However, it’s been already uploaded into other video sharing websites, particularly Dailymotion (see below).
There are also gunshots heard in the video. It’s not immediately clear whether they were shooting the lions or the donkey, or simply shooting in the air. Also, it’s not clear whether the animals were hit by gunshots or they were aimed at scaring them, or to complete the ‘show’ for spectators after the fight was over.
This is so disgusting that at first I could not force myself watching beyond the first few seconds. Then I forced myself... I felt physically sick after watching this video.
Any country, any society which has any prospect of calling itself a “civilised” should ban these sorts of outrageous displays of animal cruelty, and perpetrators should be held responsible before the law.
According to A1+, this video was made by someone in Armenian police. This video is currently among key evidences of police brutality during 1 March 2008 events in Yerevan, following disputed presidential election, and in the possession of the parliamentary commission investigating the events.
Truly, there are no limits of absurdity in the way Armenian legal system and police work. Examples? Plenty... For example: You get attacked, then YOU are detained as an ‘attacker’. Now the most recent one: You uncovered the evidence of sexual abuse and other irregularities at one of Armenia’s boarding schools, then from being a witness YOU are becoming a defendant charged with libel. That’s exactly what happened with Mariam Sukhudyan, environmental activist better known for Save Teghut Forest campaign.
EcoLur: Mariam Sukhudyan, the youth green movement activist of S.O.S Tegout, was summoned on 15 August to Erebouni Criminal Investigation Department to give an interview concerning the charge of libel in accordance with Part 1, Article 135 of the Criminal Code of RA.
On 13 November 2008, the Public TV Channel prepared a program where one of the pupils at Nubarashen Boarding School № 11 told about sexual harassment by the teacher. The TV program used video fragments submitted activists of S.O.S Teghout who are also engaged with the protection of the rights of vulnerable social layers. Based on this TV program, Erebouni Criminal Investigation Department conducted an investigation, and as a result, the criminal case №12105809 was initiated on 11 February 2009. However, the charge was not sexual harassment, but libel in accordance with Part 1, Article 135 of the Criminal Code of RA. Mariam Sukhudyan and other volunteers of the green movement were summoned as witnesses to this case in May 2009.
However, Mariam Suhkudyan received a summons on 13 August 2009, that says she is to appear to Erebouni Criminal Investigation Department as an accused.
“EcoLur” calls on to the public at large, including state bodies to pay appropriate attention to this case and reminds that the democratization process declared by the President of our country supposes the participation of the public in the country governance, and S.O.S. signals are one of its manifestation forms.
Mariam was among group of young people who volunteered at the Nubarashen boarding school N11 during April - June 2008 within the UN "10 Best Schools" project.

On 15 November 2008 a petition was posted on Big Family blog signed by those young people, uncovering various irregularities and allegations of abuse they witnessed while working as volunteers at the school.
An Unhealthy Atmosphere at the Nubarashen Boarding School Petition
We, the group of young people, have worked on voluntarily basis in Nubarashen Boarding School #11 for children with special needs from April - to June, 2008 within the UN "10 Best Schools" project. We want to bring your attention to a number of problems encountered at the school-- problems to which we cannot stay indifferent. We were able to identify and analyze these problems as a result of the frequent visits and our close relationship with the children.
Education Although the school is meant to host children with special needs, in our opinion, there are also perfectly healthy schoolchildren at the school. We do not find this situation acceptable, as the children with special needs receive a special education program, and as a result the healthy children do not receive a full education. The overall level of education in the school is very low. Many of the graduating schoolchildren do not know how to write, they can hardly read: they are illiterate. We believe this to be not so much a consequence of learning disabilities, but the lack of a caring, decent and attentive teaching process. After a few lessons with the same children, we could easily see the progress through their studies.
School Meals We heard numerous complaints from children regarding the food. We were witness to how they preferred getting by with a piece of bread instead of eating, in their own words, the "disgusting" meals the school provides. It would appear that the meals that the children to not consume is fed to the director's pigs, turkeys and dogs inhabiting the school area. Overall, children are not happy with food and they often stay hungry.
The Hygienic Conditions The air inside the school building is heavy and stinky. During the summer, children take shower twice a week, at best, once a week.
The Treatment of Children According to the stories of the children, they are object to beatings and other forms of physical punishment. We personally witnessed needlessly harsh treatment of the children from teachers and night guards. The school director and other administrative workers use children as a free labour force in their homes and summer houses. Apparently, many of the workers in the school are relatives of the director.
Sexual Assaults We have heard about sexual assault from Armenian language and literature teacher towards high school girls. According to the stories from the girls, there was at least one case of rape. The children assure they have told about this to school administration, but they were not take seriously on account of their mental disabilities.
It is worth mentioning that we have discussed these problems with the school director and personnel. After the talk, our visits to the school became highly undesirable. Meanwhile, the children have been put under pressure to the extent that they even tried to change the stories, although later they confessed they have been told to lie.
Taking into account the above mentioned accounts, we kindly ask you to further explore and to solve the problems as well as to assure our easy access to the school because children have grown attached to us and they feel stressed and anxious when we do not visit them.

Նուբարաշենի թիվ 11 հատուկ դպրոցը նախատեսված է մտավոր եւ ֆիզիկական հաշմանդամ երեխաների համար, բայց երիտասարդները, ինտենսիվ շփվելով երեխաների հետ, նկատում են, որ նրանց մեծամասնությունը ոչ միայն նորմալ մտավոր տվյալներ ունի, այլեւ` «մեծ տենչ գիտելիքի հանդեպ»: Սկսում են աշխատել նրանց հետ, սովորեցնել: Կամավորներից մեկը պատմեց, որ աշակերտների հետ 1 ամիս անգլերեն պարապելուց հետո նրանք սովորեցին այբուբենը: Իսկ 2-3 ամսից հետո կարողացան շփվել ամերիկացիների հետ: Կամավորները վաղուց էին զգացել դպրոցի տնօրինության անբարյացակամ վերաբերմունքը. պարբերաբար երիտասարդներին կանչում էին, հարցուփորձ անում` ինչու եք եկել, ինչ եք ուզում... Կամավորները բացատրում են, որ ելնելով մարդասիրական նպատակներից եւ այլն, ցույց են տալիս անհրաժեշտ փաստաթղթեր ու վկայականներ: Միեւնույնն է` կամավորների ներկայությունը դպրոցում անցանկալի էր, անհանգստացնող: Մի օր աշակերտուհիներից մեկը փաթաթվում է կամավոր աղջիկներից մեկին ու ասում. «Ես ձեզ շատ եմ սիրում, բայց մեզ արգելել են շփվել ձեզ հետ»... Սակայն կամավորներն արդեն հասցրել էին շատ բան իմանալ, պարզել դպրոցում կատարվածից:
Նախ, նկատել էին, որ աշակերտները կիսաքաղց են մնում: Հետո երեխաները պատմում են, որ օրվա վերջում իրենք իրենց ձեռքով իրենց համար պատրաստված ճաշը տանում են տնօրենի խոզերին ու հնդկահավերին: Ուտել այդ կերակուրները հնարավոր չէր:
Կամավորներին ասել էին, որ դպրոցում սովորում են 110 աշակերտներ: Երիտասարդները ոչ միայն չեն տեսնում դպրոցում այդքան աշակերտ, այլեւ շատ հաճախ նկատում են արդեն ծանոթ աշակերտների բացակայությունը: Պարզվում է` տղաներին տանում են ուսուցիչների, տնօրենի այգիներում աշխատեցնելու, աղջիկներին` տներում:
Դասուսուցումը չի կարող բավարարել անգամ մտավոր հաշմանդամ երեխաներին, ուր մնաց` լիարժեք երեխային: Աշակերտները պատմել էին, որ ստուգումների ժամանակ իրենք` միանգամայն առողջ երեխաները, ուսուցիչների ցուցումով տկարամիտի դեր են խաղում, եւ որ դա չափազանց զվարճալի է:
Դասերից հետո բոլորին փակում են մի սենյակում, միացնում հեռուստացույցն ու հորդորում սերիալ նայել: Դուրս գալը, զբոսնելը, օրը ուրիշ զբաղմունքներով լցնելը արգելվում է: Սենյակներում, ողջ դպրոցում ծանր հոտ է տարածված: Սանիտարահիգիենիկ տարրական կանոնները չեն պահպանվում. սենյակները հազվադեպ են մաքրվում, երեխաները ուշ-ուշ են լողանում:
Պարապմունքների ընթացքում կամավորների հետ մտերմացած աշակերտուհիները պատմում են ուսուցիչների կողմից կատարված սեռական ոտնձգությունների, բռնաբարության փորձերի մասին: Եվ բոլոր աշակերտուհիները նշում են իրենց հայոց լեզվի եւ գրականության ուսուցչի անունը` Լեւոն Ավագյան: Կամավորները պատմում են տնօրենին: Սա ասում է, որ այդ պատմությունները աղջիկների վառ երեւակայության արդյունքն է, չէ՞ որ նրանք ամբողջ օրը սերիալ են նայում:
Երիտասարդները դիմում են նաեւ հոգեւորականների, ՄԱԿ-ի ներկայացուցիչների, լրագրողների: Հանրային հեռուստաընկերությունը եթեր է հեռարձակում կամավորների նկարահանած տեսաերիզը` քողարկելով իր հետ կատարվածի մասին պատմող աղջկա դեմքը: Դրանից հետո հայոց լեզվի ուսուցիչ Լեւոն Ավագյանը հեռանում է դպրոցից` այլեւս ստեղծագործական աշխատանքներով զբաղվելու նպատակով: Ոչ Լ.Ավագյանը, ոչ մյուս ուսուցիչները, ոչ դպրոցի տնօրենը պատասխանատվության չեն կանչվում: Ոստիկանության Էրեբունու քննչական բաժնից պատասխանատվության են կանչվում կամավոր երիտասարդները` առանց ծանուցագրի, մի հեռախոսազանգով: «Մենք սպասում էինք, որ քննիչները պետք է խիստ մոտեցում ունենային դպրոցի տնօրինության նկատմամբ: Ի վերջո, եթե անգամ դեռ չի ապացուցվել կատարվածը, բայց վկաները շատ են, փաստերը` բազմախոսուն: Այնինչ մենք էինք մեղադրյալի դերում հայտնվել», - պատմեց կամավոր տղաներից մեկը:
«Մեզ հետ կոպիտ վարվեցին եւ շատ վիրավորական: Քննիչ Ադամյանն ասաց, որ ավելի լավ կլիներ մենք ինքնապաշտպանությամբ զբաղվեինք: Հեգնեց, թե մեզ առաքյալների տեղ ենք դրել: Մինչ այդ ես չգիտեի, որ ցուցմունք գրելու համար իրավունք չունեն մեզ 3 ժամից ավել պահելու քննչական բաժնում: Նրանք ինձ այնտեղ պահեցին 7 ժամ», - պատմեց Մարիամ Սուխուդյանը:
Մի խոսքով, երիտասարդներին քննչական բաժնում սպառնացել են, վախեցրել, ասել, որ մեղադրողները` աղջիկները, հրաժարվել են տեսաերիզում պատմածից, եւ որ ամբողջ պատասխանատվությունը իրենց` կամավորների` վարագույրը բարձրացնողների վրա է: Ի դեպ, երիտասարդները ձայնագրել են այն հեռախոսազանգը, որտեղ աղջիկներից մեկը զանգում է կամավորին ու տեղեկացնում, որ ինքը քննչական բաժնում հերքելու է ամեն ինչ, ասելու է, որ կամավորների սովորեցրածով է ինքը նման պատմություններ պատմել, իրականում ոչինչ էլ չի եղել: Եվ որ ինքը ստիպված է այդպես խոսել, քանի որ տնօրենը կանչել է մորը, հոխորտացել, սպառնացել, մայրն էլ ծեծել է իրեն` աշխարհով մեկ խայտառակ անելու համար եւ ստիպել հերքել ամեն ինչ: Աշակերտուհիները արդեն հարցաքննվել են: Նրանք ամեն ինչ հերքել են:
Երեկ ԿԳՆ-ից զանգահարել են կամավորներին, առաջարկել միասին գնալ դպրոց, ստուգայց անցկացնել: Երիտասարդները մերժել են: «Եթե հիմա դուք գնաք այդ դպրոց, կտեսնեք, որ դպրոցը մաքուր է, աշակերտները գոհ են, ոչ մի դժգոհություն չունեն: Բայց այդպես միայն առաջին հայացքից է, հավատացեք»: Երիտասարդների պայքարը գոնե մի արդյունք տվել է. դպրոցը գոնե առժամանակ մաքրվեց գարշահոտերից եւ Լեւոն Ավագյանից:
Ի դեպ, Նուբարաշենի թիվ 11 հատուկ դպրոցն են ավարտել լրագրողներ Գագիկ Շամշյանն ու Մհեր Արշակյանը: Գ.Շամշյանը այդ դպրոց է բերվել Կամոյի, Մ.Արշակյանը` Մեղրիի մանկատնից: Նրանք այդ դպրոց են բերվել իբրեւ տկարամիտներ` համալրելու այդպիսիների գլխաքանակը:
Գագիկ Շամշյանը մինչեւ հիմա հիշում է այդ դպրոցի լավ ու վատ ուսուցիչներին: Եթե անգամ չցանկանա հիշել, ճակատի սպին գոնե ամեն առավոտ հիշեցնելու է լեզվի ուսուցիչ Լեւոն Ավագյանի` մանրահատակի կտորով գլխին հասցրած հարվածը: Մինչեւ հիմա հիշում է ֆիզկուլտուրայի դասատու Վարազդատ Մկրտչյանին, որին երեխաները «կապույտ մորուք» էին ասում, փայտամշակման դասատու Դավիթ Միրզոյանին, որն իր իսկ սարքած ցուցափայտով ծեծում էր իրենց: Եվ թե ինչպես իրենց տանում էր իր այգին, բանջարանոցը, աշխատեցնում, բայց վայը եկել, տարել էր նրան, ով մի պոմիդոր, մի ցոգոլ կպոկեր:
Իսկ ի՞նչ պետք է տեսնի Կրթության եւ գիտության նախարարությունը Նուբարաշենի թիվ 11 հատուկ դպրոցում` մաքուր մանրահատա՞կ, կահկարասի՞, լվացված զուգարաննե՞ր... Ի՞նչ կարող է տեսնել, օրինակ, ԿԳՆ աշխատակից Արծվիկ Արշակյանը, ով նախկինում այդ դպրոցի փոխտնօրենն էր` բռնություննե՞րը, բռնաբարություննե՞րը, առողջ երեխաներին տկարամտացնե՞լը: Նրանք նման բաներ չեն տեսնում. ոչ այն պատճառով, որ ամենակարեւոր բաները աչքով չես տեսնի: Նրանք այնքան ազնիվ են, որ ուրիշի աչքի գերանը տեսնելիս ձայն չեն հանում, որովհետեւ տեսնում են նաեւ իրենց աչքի գերանը:

Remember how officials from the Ministry of Defence of Azerbaijan were casting doubts on that video saying that it was staged to discredit the Azeri army etc. etc. Well, they can no longer do so. Moreover, new evidence is emerging to confirm the systematic nature of the problem.

"Heroes" of video tape about violence in Azerbaijani army, posted in Internet, arrested
A criminal proceeding has been instituted into the case of the video tape, recording humiliating actions against conscripts by older soldiers, posted on the YouTube website.
Two junior sergeant of N Military Unit of the Internal Force of Azerbaijan, dislocated in Hajiqabul, have been arrested, reports Day,Az with reference to the Yeni Musavat newspaper.Thus, the arrested are junior sergeants Vuqar Aliyev and Eldeniz Rehimov.
